Our Values

The key values underpinning our work for the next three years are:

Equality

A commitment to ensuring people have equal access to high-quality services and support.

Inclusiveness

Diversity is valued, the needs of particular groups are accommodated, and wide-ranging participation is promoted.

Empathy

A humane, compassionate approach focused on harm reduction which recognises that substance misuse is a health care issue.

Rights based

Respect for the rights of everyone to receive a service based on his or her specific needs.

Partnership

Support for maintaining a partnership approach between statutory, community and voluntary bodies and wider society to address drug and alcohol issues.

Who are we

South Inner City Drug and Alcohol Task Force (SICDATF) was one of 14 Local Drug and Alcohol Task Forces (LDATFs) set up in 1997 to facilitate a more effective response in communities experiencing the highest levels of substance misuse and involve those directly affected by the problem in the development of an area-based drug strategy. The SICDATF is committed to a partnership approach and works closely with people using services, the community, and statutory and voluntary sectors on action research, training, and funding initiatives. SICDATF is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the National Drug Strategy in the context of the needs of the local area.

Our Impact

The SICDATF remit has 13 HSE and 4 City of Dublin Youth Services Board (CDYSB) funded services across the catchment area, the majority of the circa €2 million annual funding is targeted at treatment and rehabilitation services with some investment in education, prevention, and family support services.
